Joan Jett and Mrs. Mattioli - July 2011 Mrs. Mattioli meets Joan Jett

(Tampa, FL July 13, 2011) Mrs. Mattioli was fortunate to go backstage to meet Joan Jett in July. Joan Jett & The Blackhearts were in concert at the HardRock Hotel and Casino.

Many years ago, Eileen had a student named Sean Koos, who took lessons from her and later went on to play in Joan's band. She is very proud of Sean's accomplishments and continues to say hard work and practice will pay off. It did for Sean. Mrs. Mattioli continues to hear from Sean on occasion and to this day he credits her for keeping him focused on music.

Kudos! It was a thrill for sure.

Music TogetherNew Program offered at Mattioli School of Music and Arts

Music Together is a family music program for children aged 0-5 and their adult caregivers. The program is founded on over 20 years of early childhood music development research and supports not only music learning but cognitive, language, gross motor and social development in children. Each 10 week semester comes with new music we use throughout the course of that term. Families receive a songbook and CD set of the music used that term and are given tips on incorporating music outside of the classroom as well as being led through activities by a trained teacher once weekly. Classes last 45 minutes and contain segments of song, rhythm, movement and instrument play. The kids only know they're having a wonderful time and the parents do too!

Classes will be lead by Colleen McGrath and will begin on January 9th and run weekly for 10 weeks. The cost is $180 for this semester with a $5.00 registration fee for new families to this program. Call 813-409-4244 for more information or visit her website to register online.
