About Me:

Marilyn Maneekrua started her music training at the age of 5 with Eileen Mattioli herself. She received instruction from Mrs. Mattioli from 1975-1988 continuously with no breaks. Afterwards, she continued her studies with Mr. Larry McCann at St. Petersburg College and then Dr. Averill Summer at the University of South Florida. Marilyn has performed extensively in recitals, Florida Music Teachers Guild competitions, chamber groups, church, and also accompanies when needed. She assists her own children in their musical endeavors on the piano, guitar, and cello and in her spare time, attends as many “classical” concerts, ballets, and other performance art shows.

Her two favorite composers are Beethoven and Chopin but is intrigued by more modern works such as those by the composer Scriabin..

My Favorite Things:
  • Learning from Mrs. Mattioli, my longtime mentor.
  • Being able to teach the wonderful and talented students that are given to me.
  • Watching a student grow musically.
