2009 Recital

Nicholas Hughes
2009 Mattioli/Noble Recognition Award Winner

Nicholas was awarded the 2009 Mattioli/Noble Recognition Award at the April and June Recitals held at The Music Gallery, Clearwater. His Piano achievements lead him to being chosen for this award.

This award is given annually in honor of the late Ruby Noble, Eileen Mattioli's teacher, who gave Eileen the opportunity to begin teaching music in 1956. It is presented to the highest achieving student of the year. This is a monetary award as well as a wall plaque. Nicholas' name has been added to the studio wall plaque that list all previous honorees.

Nicholas has been attending Mattioli’s School of Music and Arts for 2 and a half years under the guidance of Eileen Mattioli. His latest accomplishment of memorizing Beethoven’s  Sonata 1 Op. 2 the first movement, lead to his award. He attends Lakewood High School and is currently going into the 10th grade in the CAT program. In middle school he began his musical triumph by playing trumpet for his middle school band and quickly ascended to the highest level. He then took part in the extracurricular jazz band. After starting lessons with Mrs. Mattioli, he undertook the study of voice under Mrs. Carolyn McGovern as one of his endeavors. He wishes to continue his studies on a higher level of education in college and hopes that in his musical achievements he will attain a scholarship.

Congratulations Nicholas!!!
